Community involvement

PEER Group

At PEER Group, we want to make community involvement meaningful to our employees. It’s our goal to support causes that touch their hearts and lives. One cause that is key to our corporate heart is supporting and encouraging young people to consider a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math - STEM. We try to sponsor STEM-related projects and activities whenever possible.

At the beginning of each year, we perform an internal survey allowing our generous employees to share ideas about different groups to support. Some are STEM-related, some aren’t. Most are local charities. All are worthy causes.

2017 Projects

Take Our Kids to Work Day

For the fourth consecutive year, we participated in the national Take Our Kids to Work Day and opened our office up to grade 9 students. We hosted a small but interested group: two of our employees’ teenagers visited us and enjoyed the opportunity to learn about smart manufacturing and factory automation software.

Send'em Off Smiling

Kids went back to school in September which triggered our annual donation to Send’em Off Smiling, a local charity with a mission to “set children in need on a more hopeful path by outfitting them with clothing and school supplies”. This year, our team embarked on various fundraising efforts including a “jersey day” sports-themed lunch, a sweet & savory lunch, and some pop-up auctions. We surpassed our goal of $5,200 and made a donation of $6,500 to SOS!

Our 110 employees raised donations through a garage sale, potato lunch, and a bake sale, knowing that PEER Group would match our contribution. We raised $6032 and encourage other local tech companies to kick start their own fundraising and provide a Christmas dinner to every KW family that would not otherwise enjoy one.
